The Boeing 747-400 belonging to Air Atlanta Icelandic is currently in Sharjah, UAE for maintenance and painting into its glorious Ed Force One colour scheme and is due into Cardiff on the 17th February around 10pm.
Ed Force One will be at Cardiff Airport for a couple of days before departing out to Fort Lauderdale on Friday the 19th in the afternoon piloted by non other than Iron Maiden lead singer, pilot and local aviation legend Bruce Dickinson.
We’ve been sat on this news for a good few weeks now but thanks to some Facebook groups its out there in the public domain so we felt its only fair that our readers knew too so as many Maiden fans can get to see Ed Force One as possible. This one’s definitely not just for the plane spotters!
In 2015 Bruce Dickinson flew a group of Iron Maiden fans out to Paris from Cardiff Airport to launch the Book of Souls album in a specially chartered VVB Aviation owned Boeing 737-400 under the callsign Maiden 666.
There has been a buzz in AW towers for well over a month now as we’re not only aviation buffs, we’re maiden fans too!
