Iran has finally admitted to shooting down a Ukranian Boeing 737-800 earlier this week after it was mistaken for a US warplane.

Evidence quickly grew showing that flight PS752 had been shot down by a surface to air missile but Iran rebutted the allegations saying it had crashed due to an engine failure.

Facing rising international pressure, the regime finally made the admission today saying that they had shot it down “unintentionally” killing all 176 on-board including 3 Britons.

The Iranian regime had told stuck to its official story and when the questions were raised about the aircraft being shot down the regime said that the west was “lying and engaging in psychological warfare”.

82 Iranian’s were also killed in the crash and since the truth emerged there have been protests in the Iranian capital calling for Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to resign over the deaths.

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky has said that he demands Iran “bring the guilty to the courts” in addition to paying compensation to the victim’s families.

According to the Revolutionary Gaurd, the missile targeted the 737 automatically after the aircraft turned towards a sensitive site. They claim that the passenger jet had the “flying posture and altitude of an enemy target” causing the defence system to think it was a Cruise Missile.

The missile operator then tried to identify the threat but was suffering from a disruption in communications which prevented him for doing so and as a result, he decided to launch the missile and eliminate the ‘threat’.

Iranian President Rouhani said that “Iran deeply regrets this disastrous mistake.” and vowed to prosecute those with responsibly for the incident.
