Horse trainer Richard Hannon was lucky to escape injury when the aircraft he was flying in crashed on landing at Haydock race course.
The chartered Piper Cherokee Six skidded out of control after landing on a wet grass air strip and collided with an empty helicopter.
As well as Richard Hannon, his apprentice Gary Mahon, Anna Lisa Balding and his twin brother were on board the aircraft which suffered significant damage in the accident.
According to Racing Post Richard Hannon said: “It was horrible. The runway wasn’t suitable – we slipped and skidded. But we’re all okay and that’s the most important thing.”
