Global Airlines, the start-up that plans on flying transatlantic services from the UK to New York using a fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft, has placed two charter flights on sale via UK Online Travel Agency Travelopedia.

The first flight on the 15th May 2025 operates from Glasgow (GLA/EGPF) to New York JFK, returning 4 days later on the 19th May.

Economy seat prices are available for £778 retur,n with Business Class and First Class also available at £3699 and £7126 respectively.

The Manchester (MAN/EGCC) flight leaves Manchester Airport (MAN/EGCC) on the 21st May returning on the 25th May.

Return seat prices in economy are priced at £696, Business class at £3469 and first class at £6253.

Demand for seats is hard to judge as Travelopedia, which also operates flightoffice and dreamholidays, has been alleged to use what is known as pressure-selling so it can show fewer seats available than there actually is to encourage booking there and then.

Although the aircraft is owned by Global Airlines, they do not have an Air Operators Certificate (AOC) so the flight is being operated on their behalf by experienced A380 charter operator, Hi-Fly Malta.

There is still no official date for the start of scheduled services by Global Airlines which is owned by James Asquith.

In a posts on social media, Mr Asquith said: “There is nothing better than seeing our first aircraft in the sky where it belongs” adding, “Seeing 9H-GLOBL flying reminds me of the monumental efforts of so many people in the last two years that have led us to this moment. I want to say a huge thank you to every single person who has played their part in this journey.”

Global Airlines Airbus A380 9H-GLOBL is a former China Southern aircraft.
