Flybe is ending a number of routes at London Southend Airport (SEN/EGMC) as low-fares rivals Easyjet & Ryanair increase their presence at the Essex airport.
Routes been terminated include Budapest, Glasgow, Manchester, Milan, Prague and Vienna and they will end at the end of October.
Flybe is currently undergoing restructuring of its fleet include the phasing out of Embraer E195 jets, this is also a factor as most of the routes being dropped are largely operated by the bigger of the two E-jets.
The airline is also rethinking its route network to focus on its regional airline status.
The rise of low cost carriers Ryanair and Easyjet must also likely to have been a factor with both airlines announcing multiple routes from Southend over the last few months and the creation of a new Ryanair base..
