Flight cancellations in Europe went up 46% in June

The instances of flights being cancelled in Europe has risen 46% on the previous month causing problems for travellers getting away at the start of the summer season.

The is the opposite of Asia Pacific region which saw a 16% drop according to data from aviation analytics firm Cirium.  

European airlines have also been ranked on punctuality over the month with no UK airline featuring on the top 10.

Icelandair came out on top with 84.08% of its flights in June arriving on time followed by Iberia Express at 82.5% and it’s Parent carrier Iberia hitting 77.08%

During June 8,145 flights were cancelled from European airports.

Globally, Saudi Arabian carrier Saudia took the top spot with an on-time performance rate of 88.2% taking the crown from Aeromexico who had held the top spot for the previous two months.
