First Boeing 787-10 for British Airways due on Thursday

The first Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner for British Airways is due to arrive at London Heathrow (LHR/EGLL) on Thursday 21st May at around 8 am (local).

The extended version of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be used on the London to Atlanta route and offers a 25% fuel saving on the route.

G-ZBLA was originally due to be delivered in January 2020 but this was put back originally to April then again to this week, where it looks like the delivery will finally go ahead.

The 787-10 Dreamliner features a state of the art cabin with lower altitude levels and humidity creating a more comfortable environment for passengers.

It also features British Airways’ Club Suite offers direct-aisle access, a suite door for greater privacy and luxurious flat-bed seats in a 1-2-1 configuration.

Alex Cruz, British Airways Chairman and CEO, said: “The delivery of our first 787-10 aircraft marks another significant milestone in our £6.5bn customer investment plan.

“The aircraft delivers a 25 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the aircraft it replaces, another step towards our commitment to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

“It will also offer greater comfort for our customers, as it features our latest generation seats in all cabins.”
