All the passengers onboard a Tui Airways flight from Zante to Cardiff last week have been told to self-isolate for 14 days after 7 confirmed cases of Coronavirus have been linked to the fight.
Passengers on flight BY6215 which landed at Cardiff Airport on Tuesday 25th August are all now considered close contacts of the 7 affected passengers which are spread across 3 parties on the flight.
The Director of Public Health Wales, Dr Giri Shankar, said “These passengers will be contacted shortly, but meanwhile they must self-isolate at home” adding “anyone with symptoms should book a test straightaway”.
Zante is on the UK Governments safe travel list meaning under normal circumstances passengers aren’t required to quarantine on return.
The infection rate in Greece those is rising with the last few weeks seeing it rise from 11.7 cases per 100,000 people to 14.9 cases per 100,000. Countries which reach 20 cases per 100,000 are considered for addition to the quarantine list.
