After a slow start for all manufacturers the 2019 Dubai Airshow has picked for European Airframer Airbus.
The emirates deal is for 50 A350-900 aircraft powered by British Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines.
The Air Arabia order comprises of 73 A320neos, 27 of the larger A321neo and 20 of the A321XLR (Extra Long Range).
The deals are great news for the British workforce as the wings for all Airbus airliners (except the A220) are made in Broughton, North Wales.
Speaking about the deal Sheikh Ahmed bin Saleed Al Maktoum of Emirates said “Complementing our A380s and 777, the A350s will give us added operational flexibility in terms of our capacity, range and deployment.
Adel Al Ali for Air Arabia commented “Air Arabia’s fleet growth strategy has always been driven by commercial demand and we are glad to announce today one of the regions largest single aisle orders with Airbus to support our growth plans.”
