Cardiff Airport picked up accolades for the “Friendliest Staff” and “Smoothest Security Checks”in a recent Airport Showdown by leading Flight search website Cheapflights.
The independent survey of British holidaymakers was conducted in June 2016 and saw Cardiff Airport rank 4th overall, 6 places above local rival Bristol Airport who scored a lowly 10th place.
The Survey looked at several categories including:
- Best Shopping Experience – Manchester
- Best Dining – Manchester
- Friendliest Staff – Cardiff
- Happiest Kids – Newcastle & Liverpool
- Smoothest Security Checks – Cardiff
- Passport Control (Immigration) – Newcastle
- Baggage – Liverpool
The overall top 10 was:
- Newcastle
- Edinburgh
- Liverpool
- Cardiff
- Glasgow
- Belfast
- Manchester
- East Midlands
- Leeds Bradford
- Bristol
The result comes as Cardiff Airport faces its busiest time of the year with 250,000 passengers expected to use the airport over the next 6 weeks. Passengers are jetting off to destinations such as Palma, Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh, Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife, Barcelona, Ibiza and Paris with Thomson, Flybe, Thomas Cook, Vueling, Ryanair, Norwegian and KLM.
