BA cancels flights from Heathrow as ‘beast from the east’ approaches

British Airways

British Airways (BA/BAW) has cancelled 34 flights on Monday 26th February as the “beast from the east” rolls into the UK overnight.

Freezing temperatures and snow are set to cause major disruption across the UK over the next 7 days with temperatures plummeting to sub-zero and getting colder as the week goes on.

As a result, British Airways has taken the decision to cancel a series of flights from Heathrow Airport (LHR/EGLL) to help minimise disruption.

A spokesperson for British Airways said “We’re very sorry that some of our customers’ travel plans have been affected due to the adverse weather conditions forecast across parts of the UK tomorrow.

“We have unfortunately had to cancel a small number of flights and are rebooking customers onto alternative flights or offering them a full refund if they no longer wish to travel.

“We are doing all we can to minimise disruption and are advising customers to check ba.com for the latest information about their flights.”

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow for South Eastern England with further warnings for the rest of the UK from Tuesday onwards.
