Alison FitzGerald appointed CEO of London City Airport

Alison FitzGerald has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of London City Airport (LCY/EGLC) with immediate effect.

Alison was selected by the board after holding the role as Co-CEO since January together with Chief Financial Officer Wilma Allan.

Appointed as Chief Operating Officer in 2016, Alison has helped steer the airport through a period of improvement and growth including innovations such as the world’s first Digital Air Traffic Control Tower and the first airport to deploy the new Next generation CT scanners.

Mel Ewell, Chair of London City Airport, said: “On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Alison as our new CEO given her strong track record of delivering results at London City. After an extensive search process, we are confident that Alison is the right person to lead the business through its next phase of growth.”

London City Airport is regularly ranked as the UKs most punctual airport and was recognised as London best airport by Which?.

Prior to her appointment at London City Airport Alison was CIO at the Financial Times where she was responsible for both print and digital technology. Before joining the FT, Alison spent 16 years at Abbey/Santander where she held a number of senior management technology positions.
