Airbus has released updated guidance for 2024 showing it aims to deliver 770 airlines this year, down from the 800 originally planned.
Although supply chain issues have forced the European aerospace giant to review its ramp up trajectories Airbus still aims to be producing 75 A320 family aircraft a month by 2027.
The issues hindering the ramp-up are largely centred around the supply of the engines as well as cabin equipment and some aerostructures.
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury has previously said that engine suppliers for the A320neo family could face penalties as the supply chain has significantly deteriorated.
The A320neo has two engine options, the Leap 1A built by CFM International and the PW1100G built by Pratt & Whitney.
As a result of the supply chain issues, Airbus has revised down its EBIT adjusted operating income to €5.5bn, down from €6.5 to €7bn originally announced.
As of May 2024, Airbus has delivered 256 aircraft to 58 customers across the globe.
