4th place for Ben Murphy in Indy Air Race

Ben Murphy of Great Britain performs during the finals at the seventh round of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis, Indiana, United States on October 7, 2018.

Britain’s Ben Murphy just missed out on a podium place when he finished 4th at the Indianapolis Air Race last weekend.

The Blades Racing Team pilot got through to the final round of 4 after beating American Kirby Chambliss in the round of 8. That result saw Ben scored his highest position of the year and missing out on the podium spot by just over a second.

Michael Goulian was the overall winner at the Indianapolis Air Race.

After the race Ben said: “It’s been a pretty eventful weekend for us. We’ve had so many struggles this week, so to pull it all together on the day it counts is really good, and the great thing is that through all those troubles, the team has performed fantastically. I couldn’t have done it without them. It’s a shame it wasn’t a podium, but it’s a good sign of things to come.”
