Cardiff Airport has seen 12 months of growth according to the latest figures released today.
May 2016 saw an increase of 27% compared to the same period last year which brought the total number of passengers using Wales’ Airport to nearly 1.3m in the last 12 months.
The opening of a Flybe base along with capacity increases from Ryanair and Vueling have helped the Welsh Government owned airport reverse the decline that had set in under its previous owners.
Along with extra capacity the Terminal has undergone upgrades and improvements as seen with the recent launch of the new departure lounge.

Debra Barber, Managing Director at Cardiff Airport said: “It’s been a fantastic twelve months, we’ve seen some exciting developments and a busy start to the summer season. During May half term week alone we saw more than 35,000 passengers through our doors and enjoy the new look in our departure lounge”
